the last otep show i saw was more than bad-ass. it took us 2 1/2 hours to get there from Houston, since a lot of bands wont come probably because of the large number of hip-hop influenced crazed kids around town, but with a few blunts and a six pack it wasnt "no thang." we stopped at a couple shit towns on the way pretty much jammin and conversated pickn up a disposable camera. we got there just in time to see that band. was it e-town concrete open up. kinda made the drive seem unworthy while we sat through noise therapy. i took some pics and started gettin the pit ready. i think the coolest thing i saw that night was right before otep hit the stage you could see moke come out to practice while some stagehands were setting shit up. rob came on to do some small soudn check and you could literally feel the crowd gettin up from their seats and rushing the floor, it was beautiful:( pretty much from then on it had to be total chaos while me and MY friends were rushin each other gettin people to move around a little. the fuked up thing was the fukn support beam in the middle of the pit you kinda had to watch out for :) the show wasnt as good physically as when i saw then 9-8-02 at dallas ozzfest, mostly because of the lack of ss. there must have been forty people there. but it gave me more of a chance to get down you know! mentally one of the best shows ive seen just because OTep is too fukn cool. she did a break down and played some of her more poetical songs towards the middle and ended with blood pigs as an encore. looked like she was ready to shut down early. after buyin as much cool shit as i could afford, it was about time to get back on the road thank god for road beers. so all in all it wasnt the most muscle tendering experience but it was one of the best opportunites to spend some good time with great people at no real expense. trust me bad ass show folks I WILL SEE THEM AT LEAST ONE MORE FUKN TIME! im still praying that ozzies gonna come back for one more before the best damn tour on the planet vanishes forever...

the moment that pig head came onto the stage to the first words she spoke, there wasnt a doubt in my mind that all holy hell was going to be unleashed. the sweet sound of the syrins screaming, that voice, i wasnt sure if i wanted to kill her father or give her a hug, all i can say is FITS IN THE AIR FOR OTEP!! blklotus@kdsi.net

My most memorable Otep experience is from the Winter Armageddon tour...in Sauget, IL! I traveled with some friends over 700 miles all for Otep! We stayed with Kevin and Dimple in Champaign...then the day of the show, we got there and hung out with Otep a lil bit before...quite a few soldiers there, some from WI, MN, TX, OH, IL, and MO!!! This wuz the Thanksgiving Metalfest, which otep headlined...when they came on, it wuz out of this world...never have i seen otep play so beatifully, nor will i ever forget it...there's so much to say Nate Miller Superior, WI
i saw otep on ozzfest 2001, multiple times. i was there with some of my friends, right up where otep was coming out. i had no idea who this band was. the drumming was amazing, the penetrating bass riffs and wailing guitar eloped me. i was instantly shocked, i had no idea there was a band at ozzfest i hadn't heard of, especially of this amazing quality! most importantly, the warrior presenting the masses. screams and jumps and wailing, everything knocking into each other. the sudden clash of emotions. i went frantic. i remember listening to the lyrics with the attention spand of albert einstein during his most important inventions. being that i was there to enjoy good music and the company of my friends, and jump around a bit, i was glad to participate. yet i found myself shocked, staring at this goddess right in front of me [you better believed i got up to the very fucking front and center] and couldn't move. yeah, i jumped a bit, but having a developing pit right behind me and whatnot, i didn't even turn to acknowledge any of the action evolving around me. yes, at other shows i did mosh, but that first show i ever witnessed, that will be a memory i will keep always. i have never been so shocked by any bands first impression on stage with me, and frankly, i doubt i will be. otep has changed my outlook on life in so many different ways. from the lyrics and brutal honesty in the lyrics, to the adrenaline rush and other world i feel placed in when seeing them. paige kazazian cary, nc
